Manufacturer “Park Avenue” labels attached underneath cushions.
In a 1956 cover story in Time magazine, Saarinen announced that he was designing a collection to “clear up the slum of legs in the U.S. home.” Later that year, he completed his Pedestal Table and Tulip Chair Collection (1956) with its cast aluminum base inspired by a drop of high-viscosity liquid.
Condition: Overall very good to excellent condition. Very minor wear to shells and legs, free of breaks. They have been professionally reupholstered cushions in Knoll fabric. Please note these do not swivel.
