Saratoga Chair by Massimo and Lella Vignelli for Poltronova.

Italy, 1960's

White lacquered wood frame.

Reupholstered in April 2024 in an off-white Knoll "Ferry" in Whitehall color .

Poltronova label attached to underside.

The 'Saratoga' is series designed by Italian designer couple Lella & Massimo Vignelli. The Vignelli's were known for their clear designs, this piece is therefore also completely free from decorative details. All attention goes to the essential form and material in this design by Vignelli. The “Saratoga” is one of the first examples of modular and modern living in twentieth century.

Condition: Overall good condition. Various small chips to the lacquer as seen in the photos, most of which are on the bottom edge. Cushions has just been reupholstered in Knoll "Ferry" fabric. Chair is very stable and comfortable.
